Thank You.
It was a remarkable twelve weeks. We ran a fair campaign and we competed with dignity.
We set the agenda. We opened the process and made broader participation possible.
Unfortunately, what they say is true: "We Don't Want Nobody Nobody Sent."
The sentiment and the management philosophy it represents is still alive in Chicago.
But maybe our campaign will serve as a starting point for a better, more robust
tradition on the north lake front---democratic, progressive, open to all.
The platform that I ran on is as important as everending pay-to-play politics,
making taxation fair and transparent, and crafting budgets that make
sense for the families and businesses that call Illinois home.
Join me and partner organizations revitalize the political conversation
on the north lakefront. I encourage you to become involved, to find an issue
you care about, and to partner with friends and neighbors.
Stop by the Northside DFA's regular monthly meeting at Fizz,
located at 3220 N. Lincoln Ave., two blocks south of the Paulina CTA Brown Line.
Join us for socializing and an optional buffet dinner at 6:00 p.m. ($15).
The meeting itself begins at 7:00 p.m. I'm usually there and it's a welcoming crowd. Really.
We love folks that no one sent.
