Recall Provision

I support a recall provision but before amending the Illinois Consitution, the question should be put to the voters of the state by referendum.

A recall provision empowers the voters to put a check on the ill-advised and chronic use of executive muscle. Currently, and in recent administrations, voters have had to wait for federal indictments. Impeachment is available but is dependent upon the will and ability of legislators.

A political solution that voters can activate and complete on their own volition should be available. However, to temper against temporary public passions, the signature threshold to activate such a mechanism should be significant.
